Witt Announces Price Increase for 2012 – January 3, 2012

Scottsboro, Alabama – January 3, 2012

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you again for your business. The past year presented Witt with many challenges and opportunities as is the case for many of our customers and suppliers.

Unfortunately, due to economic pressures, as well as increased commodity and component costs, Witt will be implementing a List Price adjustment on complete units and parts. Effective as of February 1, 2012, all Witt products will be increased by 2%, and all parts will be increased by 4%.

Of the many factors driving pricing, the International Monetary Fund’s Commodity Metals Price Index is up over 150% in the past three years. At Witt, we have experienced large increases in our primary raw materials during this same time period including copper, aluminum, and steel. In addition, the average cost of diesel fuel has increased by over 30% during the just the past 12 months alone, dramatically increasing shipping costs which includes fuel surcharges assessed against Witt.

Witt does not take these actions lightly. Price increases are never welcomed, but we have done everything possible to mitigate the net impact by improving our internal efficiencies, and by challenging any price increases presented to us by our suppliers. We truly appreciate your business and look forward to a very successful 2012 for all.

Sincerely,
